Golang Job: Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong background in software development and DevOps to support our systems focused on linear channel delivery and modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing systems, working on infrastructure modernization, and supporting the streaming engineering team to ensure smooth operation of linear streaming channels. This role offers the opportunity to apply a software-driven approach to infrastructure management, leveraging automation and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve an existing system focused on linear channel delivery while contributing to the development of a new, modernized system.


• Provide hands-on technical Site Reliability Engineering support for production observability and incident response.


• Collaborate with the streaming engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of linear streaming channels.


• Manage DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automation and infrastructure as code.


• Utilize tools such as Kubernetes (on-prem and in the cloud), Terraform, and industry-standard DevOps tools to manage Kubernetes applications and clusters.


• Support both relational and NoSQL databases as part of overall infrastructure management.


• Support the streaming engineering team by providing hands-on SRE support, focusing on observability, incident response, and automation.


• Work on improving and modernizing the system for linear channel delivery.


• Manage production infrastructure through a software-driven approach, leveraging infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience with a background in software development and/or engineering.


• Proficiency in DevOps for CI/CD deployment, release, and management.


• Previous programming experience (preferred languages: GoLang or JavaScript).


• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production environments, both on-prem and in the cloud, preferably using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).


• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools - Terraform is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD deployment and release management.


• Experience in either a large enterprise environment or a startup that has scaled.


• Background in the streaming space (e.g., streaming platforms, sports streaming, video websites, or broadcasting).


• Familiarity with tools like Helm, kubectl, awscli to automate and manage Kubernetes applications and clusters.


• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.


• Additional coding experience in Go or JavaScript.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $75-85/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
